Noam Chomsky is a western philosopher born December 7, 1928. During college, he had studied linguistics and is now very large in the field with books such as Logical Structures of Linguistic Theories. But he is even more popular in means of his philosophies and political viewpoints.
During the Vietnamese war, Chomsky had established himself as a critic of US foreign and domestic policies. His book, American Power and the New Mandarin, discusses his views on the Vietnam War. He argues that instead of leading South Vietnam into peasantry, US forces should have been defending them from North Vietnamese attack.
Some of Chomsky’s quotes:
”Any dictator would admire the uniformity and obedience of the U.S. media.”
“Everybody's worried about stopping terrorism. Well, there's a really easy way: stop participating in it.”
“If the Nuremberg laws were applied, then every post-war American president would have been hanged.”
“You never need an argument against the use of violence, you need an argument for it.”
